Earlier in the year, Makgotso was in four tv shows simultaneously. That is the level of demand she is in and the anchor of her career is her role in Isidingo.
Makgotso’s mother is her great influence. She worked as a nurse in the U.K, educated her children and gave her daughter her blessing to return home and pursue this career.
Like the curries she’s so fond of, Ms. M’s acting work took a while to come together. TV chef and food author Manisha Naidu can relate. What onions are to cooking, auditions are to acting. A lot of work, many tears, you often feel you’re going round in circles but it does pay off.
When she wasn’t acting, Makgotso worked as an editor, a producer’s assistant, stayed in the game and got noticed. Her advice is do just the same and don’t take no for an answer.
