Aleit Swanepoel shows Top Billing his new home
Between the Helderberg mountains and bluegum trees, event-coordinator and lifestyle guru Aleit Swanepoel’s home is like something out of a fairytale.
When he first viewed the originally cream Tuscan structure it was the forest setting that caught his eye, not the architecture. He then entrusted the renovation and interiors to a couple whose wedding he co-ordinated years ago, Flip van Rooyen and Doctor Corlene Fenwick.
To create space, several supporting walls were removed and replaced with steel structures. For the exterior, a dark new colour palette was introduced to help the house sink in to the surrounding forest.
As for the interiors, the beautiful open-plan living area features a chic black kitchen and a stunning entertainment area.
The show-stopper of the whole space is Aleit’s art on one wall, aptly named “the gallery”, which features work he’s collected over the course of years.
True to his career, Aleit’s garden is perfect for hosting events, and features a beautiful fountain so large it wouldn’t be out of place in Rome! It took eight men and a crane to carry, and formed the centrepiece of a garden by Bulgarian landscape designer Eti Buis.
To do a six-month renovation in just two months, took thirteen hour days and seven day work weeks, but it was all worth it to pull of this dream home!
