If you’re looking for great family entertainment, you don’t want to miss The Joburg Theatre’s production of Snow White!
Local panto legend Desmond Dube plays the role of Dame Dolla, and says the show brings families together and unites the community through theatre.
In his panto debut, radio and rugby star John Robbie plays the Major-dumb-ou, and definitely had a lot of fun doing it, while he is worried by how many people say the ‘bumbling’ character is similar to him.
This is something actor Ben Voss doesn’t have to worry about. He’s great at playing wicked characters but couldn’t be a nicer guy. While playing the Evil Queen, Ben has had a lot of fun with the colourful and flamboyant wardrobe.
The show also features some incredible rising theatre stars like Kiruna-Lind Devar - she of the heart as pure as snow - and the very charming Tshepo Ncokoane who previously played the role of Miss Understanding in “Priscilla Queen of the desert the musical”.
Creator Janice Honeyman describes the show as ‘sweet and sad… romantic and rollicking… funny and full of fantasy’ and with its high energy, all-star singing and dancing cast, you can’t help but be taken in by the sheer magic of Snow White.
