Our love affair with home grown African talent is highlighted this week as we travel to Ghana's number one, and not to mention most colourful, fashion brand Woodin. Jonathan paid a visit their factory to see exactly how each of their statement pieces are brought to life.
Hailing from sub-tropical climates, cotton has become one of Ghana's most beautiful products, and industrialists like Mr Woodin have taken full advantage of their geographical position by setting up their textile factories in West Africa.
As a growing number of Western shoppers look for responsibly sourced and manufactured garments that benefit countries which grow the original crop, factories like this are finally seeing the rewards of their labour.
Whether plain dyed or metallic, every two weeks there are new fabric designs put out by this company, ensuring that the same pattern is never repeated twice. Starting with locally sourced cotton, the end result is a beautiful garment, fit for royalty.
